LITA FORD 'Turned Down' Chance To Appear In 'The Surreal Life'

June 26, 2006

Lita Ford's husband Jim Gillette — the former NITRO singer who could allegedly shatter glass with his voice — has shot down reports that the '80s female rocker is among the celebrities who will take part in the seventh season of VH1's "The Surreal Life", a reality television series that sets a select group of out-of-the-spotlight celebrities and films them as they live together in a mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

In a posting on former NITRO guitarist Michael Angelo Batio's official forum, Gillette confirmed that Ford "was asked" by the "The Surreal Life" producers to take part in the show," but went on to add that she "turned them down." Said Gillette, "She couldn't last a day away from me! Maybe it's the other way around?!?!?"

Another musician who was recently rumored to be taking part in the seventh season of VH1's "The Surreal Life" is TYPE O NEGATIVE's Peter Steele.

The sixth season of "The Surreal Life", which recently finished airing on VH1, featured POISON guitarist C.C. Deville alongside WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale's ex-wife, Tawny Kitaen, plus Steve Harwell of SMASHMOUTH; actor Sherman Hemsley; Playboy TV's covergirl Andrea Lowell; and Alexis Arquette.
